Featherweight Servicing and Maintenance Workshop

You might be a seasoned Featherweight quilter, a novice, or intimidated to use your Featherweight. You will gain knowledge of maintenance and care as well as sewing projects with guidance from skilled Featherweight owner Kathy Suarez.
This class will be devoted to tuning up your Featherweight so that you will be ready to sew at all the other classes. For less than the price of having your machine serviced, you will learn to maintain your machine at home, your machine will be treated to a complete spa day.
You will learn:
Cleaning, Oiling and greasing your machine
Tension adjustments
Threading, winding bobbins and troubleshooting stitching issues
Belt adjustment and Motor care
Bed cushion replacement
Light bulb replacement
Achieving a good stitch
Foot controller use and care
Surface cleaning
Class requirements and supplies:
Your Featherweight machine
Sewing machine oil (also called SMO)
Sewing machine Motor and gear lube (sew retro recommended)
Q-tips and toothbrush
3/8-1" paint brush
Tweezers
Old towel to place machine on 15x25 or larger.
Microfiber towel
Latex or Nitrile gloves
Various sized flathead screwdrivers (Wera screw drivers recommended
18 count egg crate
2 colors cotton thread
Cotton fabric (fat quarter)
